The "Oceanic '53" Vintage Diver

Before the era of dive computers, combat divers and deep-sea explorers relied on purely mechanical instruments. The DG-B6560 "Oceanic '53" is a faithful homage to the very first specialized dive watches issued to elite naval forces in the early 1950s. We've revived this iconic silhouette with uncompromising modern materials.

The most striking feature of the Oceanic '53 is its curvature. We've used a highly specialized domed sapphire crystal that blends seamlessly with the curved bezel. This creates a mesmerizing "liquid" sheen that elegantly distorts the dial at extreme angles, much like the vintage acrylic crystals of the past, but with the extreme scratch resistance of modern sapphire.

For perfect aesthetic balance, we opted for a dial without a date window. The matte black surface provides a high-contrast backdrop for the applied indices (with the classic numerals 3, 6, 9, and 12). Featuring a warm, aged luminescence, the watch takes on an authentic Wabi-Sabi patina by day and transforms into a torchlight by night. Unlike typical dive watches, the Oceanic '53 features a fully luminescent bezel, allowing you to track elapsed time even in total darkness.

A true gentleman's watch requires the right strap. Instead of ordinary leather, we've equipped the Ref. DG-B6560 model with a premium Cordovan leather strap. Known for its incredible durability, dense fiber construction, and rich, crease-resistant finish, this strap will fit perfectly on your wrist and develop a unique patina over the decades.

Beneath the case beats the renowned and reliable Japanese automatic movement. The solid stainless steel caseback is engraved with crossed combat swords, a subtle tribute to the military divers who inspired this legendary design.
