Valuchi's Lunar Calendar collection pays homage to the English watchmaker Thomas Mudge who first invented the perpetual calendar in 1762.
Of all the wonderfully superfluous things you can get on a watch, the perpetual calendar is definitely at the top of the list.
The function does not only serve the practical purpose of showing the day, date, month and moon phases without adjustment.
It serves to elevate the watchmaking profession itself.
