The watch is based on a 1960s military specification for divers' watches, with subtle upgrades such as a mineral crystal and a sophisticated hybrid movement.

It uses Luminova instead of the Tritium used in the '60s, yet for historical reasons the dial carries an encircled T rather than the L normally used for Luminova on military watches. Unlike Tritium, Luminova does not deteriorate with age and is not radioactive; on this variant the paint colour mimics aged Tritium.
