Description
This classic MWC aviator model is water resistant to 100m with a solid stainless steel case and screw-down crown and caseback.
Although the style is very similar to the watches of the 1950s, these watches use modern and updated technologies, with greatly improved precision thanks to the use of a modern 24-jewel NH35 automatic movement with a power reserve of up to 41 hours and function hacking, plus the benefits of a scratch- and impact-resistant sapphire crystal.
The special non-reflective matte black PVD coating used for this watch is often specified in military contracts for many special forces units, as well as by counter-terrorism and various covert operations units. In the PVD process the steel is not completely black because the color is created by a special PVD chemical plating process which is far superior to the painted finish used on some lower quality watches which can easily fade or rub off. This PVD process means that the color of the steel is altered at a molecular level, so it does not deteriorate even during heavy use, although it can be destroyed if the case is severely damaged by a piece of metal being removed or if it is worn out from continuous heavy abrasion against rocks etc.
